Masterson’s Pub , situated in the center of Moonee Ponds , brands itself as a fashionable, contemporary hangout, but my recent visit at this establishment quickly devolved into an unforgettable, terrible experience. While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I found behind its threshold was appalling and beyond comprehension .

The surfaces were tacky , and a nauseating aroma of uncleaned spills and filthy restrooms polluted the entire establishment . Reeking of a mixture of excrement , old age and a sickly smell. The restroom was in even a truly awful state— spilling over , with a broken handle and walls covered in what I can only assume was human excrement .

Based on the experiences shared online and conversing with residents , it seems that here the level of hygiene (or lack thereof) at this pub is a well-known flaw . Many visitors have reported seeing bugs darting across the drink station and signs of rats in the basement . For a business a great read that provides refreshments , these issues are completely unacceptable and raise serious concerns about the quality of their offerings.
